E-Newsletter Criteria for Submissions


The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas distributes a twice-monthly E-Newsletter detailing the latest events and programs taking place within the Greater Dallas-area Jewish community. Criteria for the E-Newsletter are as follows:

r Deadline to submit material is 3 p.m. the Monday prior to distribution. Information that is received after the deadline will be scheduled for the next E-Newsletter two weeks later, which runs every other Thursday.

r Due to the high volume of submissions received for each e-newsletter, press releases are no longer being accepted as submissions. All submissions should be made via the online form, and include the following information:

Event Title 
Event Date
         (ex: Tuesday, March 9, 2008)
Event Time
          (ex: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.)
Event Location, including street address 
          (ex: Jewish Federation of Greater
Dallas, 7800 Northaven Rd., in Dallas)
Brief Description of event (no more than 100 words)
Cost to attend, if any 
What organization is hosting/sponsoring event
Contact information 
           (ex: [Name] at (XXX) XXX-XXXX or email
name@jfgd.org)

r Submissions without the above listed criteria will not be included.

r Submissions should be no longer than 100 words.

r Only events open to the public and of interest to the Jewish community should be submitted. For example, an event requiring attendees to be a member of a specific group will not be included. Courses lasting more than 5 weeks, camps and standard Shabbat services will not be included.

r Any events or programs that are ongoing should be submitted to the Community Calendar.

r Ongoing events or programs WILL be included once a month ONLY.

r Each announcement will run for no more than two consecutive E-Newsletters prior to the event, provided the information is received in time and depending on the amount of submissions already received for that week's issue. Events will be listed in chronological order.

r Each organization may submit up to three announcements per E-Newsletter, however, the Federation reserves the right to omit announcements as needed to keep the E-Newsletter brief and effective.

r Artwork and logos are not used in the E-Newsletter.
